Young Eagles Chapter 32 will have “Aviation” merit badge workshop sessions on the second Saturday of the month from April – October. Those dates include:
• April 8th
• May 13th
• June 10th
• July 8th
• August 12th
• September 9th
• October 14th

Reservations can be made after the New Year for spots in the Aviation Merit Badge workshop put on by the Young Eagles (EAA Chapter 32) located at St. Charles Airport (6410 Grafton Ferry Road, St. Charles, MO 63301) This is about half-way between St. Charles and Portage des Sioux.

Seating is limited to 20 scouts per session. The Young Eagles do not turn anyone away, but they get a little crowded past 20 Scouts.

There is no cost for the Aviation Merit Badge. Each scout will need to contact Scoutmaster Gill for approval and acquire a signed Blue Card.

The Young Eagles do not provide copies of the merit badge worksheets. Scouts should print out and bring a copy of the Aviation merit badge worksheet available at: http://www.usscouts.org/usscouts/mb/worksheets/Aviation.pdf
Scouts should also bring a pencil.

The Young Eagles will cover everything necessary to acquire the Aviation merit badge. Scouts are not required to complete any prerequisites before the workshop.

For Requirement 2a, a parent will need to sign the registration form. Mr. Searcy will make arrangements to acquire these for signature shortly before the event. You may make a copy for your records, but the Young Eagles must receive the original back for their records. Scouts will take their flights concurrent with class. The Young Eagles Staff will cover any missed material with Scouts when they return from a flight. Siblings are welcome to take a Young Eagle flight too. Young Eagle flights are free and available to ages 8 -17. Flights are first come - first served to Scouts, then siblings. They are also dependent upon weather and pilot availability.

The Young Eagle Staff usually fire up a grill about 11:00 am, so when instruction is complete (about noon), hot dogs, hamburgers, chips, and soda will be available for purchase. Scouts can also bring their own lunch.
