May 2026 Troop 216 Committee Minutes

Call to Order: 7:03
Attendance: David Kistner, Ben Bullock, Jamie Maurer, Mike Vieth, Tim Valley, Steve
Kupsky, Mark Mason, Doug Schultz, Albert Middeke

Secretary Report: Minutes from April were approved. After a week awaiting approval,
they were posted to the website.

Eagle Scout Presentations: No report

Treasurer Report: Report was approved and passed. OA dues paid,Court of Honor
supplies were reimbursed and Scout shop supplies were purchased. Mr. Valley reports
that new roster Scouts have not been added with their accounts as of yet.

Activities Chair:
Marengo Cave campout has been cancelled
Summer camp is June 14-22. Adult participation is needed.
No High Adventure is planned for this summer but Scouts are planning some local,
weekend adventures.
Pool is open for swim tests the first weekend in June at camp Warren Levis.
1300 people attended the Raceway campout. It was a successful event.

Advancement Chair: We are gearing up for summer camp and all of the merit badge
opportunities to be had there. It was mentioned that new Scouts will need to be in
Scoutbook to start showing advancements.

Council/District Report:
September 11, Fall Fellowship at Camp Warren Levis

October 2-4, Rendevous
October 16-17 and 23-24, Haunted Hayride
Roundtable theme was program planning. Discussed how to plan the program for the
year. There will be no Roundtable in June or July.
National Scouting America has new Sagegaurding Youth Training. It’s 90 minutes of
training initially and then a 20 minute refresher is required every year after. A quiz is
administered and if failed, you will be required to repeat the 90 minute training. Find the
training at My.Scouting.

Quartermaster: No report but FYI TruValue has a sale on Propane

Communications: No report

Recruitment: No report

Fundraising Report: Camp cards are available for Scouts to sell and earn money for
their Scout accounts. See Mr. Valley
Each Scout can decide on their own to sell popcorn or coffee.
Culvers DIne to Donate was May 4. Results are forthcoming.
Cardinal tickets are still being negotiated.

Senior Patrol Leader Report: Interested in going to Horseshoe Lake for fishing, biking
and camping.
Interested in kayaking or canoeing, a night hike and a hike that the scouts pack a meal
and eat on the trail.
Ideas for meetings are ropes and knots, food safety and exercise meetings.

Committee Chair: No report

Charter Representative Report: No official report but it was noted that the blessings box
on site has been fixed.

Scoutmaster Report: Parent meetings are being scheduled. Mr. Kistner will be gone
until Summer camp. Class B uniform can be worn for summer meetings and activities.
Looking into options for Class B to be ordered.

Old Business: none

New Business: Memorial Day activities are being planned. In the process of
communicating with Woodlawn Cemetery for flag planting.
