Presently only 11 participants have signed up for the 5/11 High Ropes
activity (8:45 am to noon). Lake Williamson requires a minimum of 15
participants. If you haven’t already signed up please notify Mrs. Gill of
your intentions (diane.gill67@gmail.com). Mrs. Gill has offered to drive a
group of scouts to and from Lake Williamson High Ropes, if a scout wasn’t
planning to camp either night.

It is very important we know everyone’s plans for this event (camping &
ropes or camping only or ropes only, plus the number of nights of camping),
so we can ensure adequate transportation and adult coverage, especially if
there are scouts not going to High Ropes activity. There are some older
scouts arriving on Saturday AM due to the high school band banquet on
Friday night. Some don’t want to camp on Saturday night due to the next
day being Mother’s Day or want to leave early Sunday morning.

We try to do our best to accommodate various schedules, but there are
limitations. Last minute changes in plans are disruptive to the planning
process. We understand emergencies can arise. All we ask for is clear and
concise communication, plus adult support so our scouts can be provided
outdoor activity opportunities. Please help out wherever you can. Thank
you.

*Permission slip, signed waiver and payment is due by 7:30 PM at Monday,
April 29th’s meeting. * Scouts will be planning meals and shopping lists,
so it is important to have attendance numbers for planning purposes. A few
participating scouts will be asked to participate in grocery shopping on
Thursday night, May 2nd.

We are excited for our upcoming camp out the weekend of May 10-12. We will
be in Beaver Dam State Park
<www.dnr.illinois.gov/Parks/Pages/BeaverDam.aspx>, about a 45
minute drive, camping at one of their Youth Campsites.

On Saturday morning May 11, Scouts may participate in the High Ropes
Adventure <www.lakewilliamson.org/eagle-crest/high-ropes/> located
15-20 minutes from the State Park. This is an event that our Troop has
participated in for several years and has found rewarding; however, taking
part in High Ropes is optional. High Ropes requires the signed waiver
found at the above linked site or attached below. We will need adequate
supervision and transportation for this off-site event that lasts until
noon.

Those unable to camp may meet the Troop at the High Ropes location by 8:45
am.

Please see the attached permission form, due by 4/29, for further details
and to sign up for camping, high ropes, or both, at a cost of $25 for each
person for each event.

It is necessary we have at least 4 registered and trained adults in
