Sharing from Mike Veith…

The First Christian Church (FCC) Properties Committee Chairman contacted
me to see if Troop 216 would be interested in earning Service Project
credits by helping with a scheduled work day at the church. He has
scheduled Saturday, September 7th starting at 8 am with a rain out day of
September 14. Work to be done is cleaning up the courtyard and landscaping
areas by pulling weeds, trimming, etc. I imagine the job will be done by
11 or noon if not sooner. – Mike Veith, Charter Representative for FCC

If your scout is interested in earning service hours, please have them sign
up with the Senior Patrol Leader.

10/12 Boy Scout Leadership Classroom Training @ Eden Church

Sharing the below information from Steve Kupsky, Unit Commissioner…

As you know, several adults on our charter have completed their required
position specific training, but this is also for adults interested in
moving into new leadership roles. Also, the IOLS note below and on the
GSLAC website is for SMs and ASMs only (not CORs or committee members who
are not also interested in providing onsite leadership at troop outdoor
events). Please let me know if you want to discuss.

Boy Scout New Leader Training

This comprehensive basic training is the very best way for all Adult
Leaders and Parents to be trained for their current and future Troop
positions, to gain a thorough basic understanding of how the Scouting
Program works, to learn ways to apply this in their home units to help
their Scouts run a successful troop program, and to obtain references and
resources available for further knowledge. Training for SM/ASM Position
Specific, Troop Committee, and Chartered Organization Representative (COR)
classroom training.

To be officially “trained” and wear the “Trained” patch on your uniform,
you must complete the training course for your specific
position AND Introduction to Outdoor Skills (IOLS).

Pre-registration is REQUIRED for all training.
