Good Afternoon,

We will be having the event at the Collinsville Aqua Park again this year.
It will be held Thursday, August 1st from 7:30 PM-9:30 PM. The cost per
unit is $175. Checks written to the City of Collinsville and can be given
to either us. If you have interests in attending, we must have a
confirmation and payment from your unit no later than Monday, July 8th. If
we do not have at least 8 units attending, the event is subject to
cancellation and your money will be refunded.

We currently have 3 units committed so please talk to your units if you are
planning on going or have interests. This event will serve as a recruitment
event as well and is open to prospective new Scouts, neighbors, family, and
friends of the pack. You can include those people in your RSVP numbers. A
Facebook event will be created soon so you can share the event with people.

For more information, please contact either Kevin or I.

Invitation to Help Grill for Beaumont Climbing Tower Dedication 6/22 – Service Hours opportunity

Dear Troop 216,

Many of you know that one of our troop parents, Emily Joellenbeck is the
Greater St. Louis Area Council’s newest Development Director and will be
fundraising for the Cahokia Mounds District and the Council.

The Council is looking for a troop to volunteer to help grill and serve
hamburgers and hot dogs for the attendees of the Beaumont Climbing Tower
Dedication on Saturday, June 22nd. The dedication will begin at 10 with
lunch expected around 11 (after dedication and tours of camp).

If you are able to come out and help, please be there by 10 and find the
Joellenbeck’s – Neil will be helping on the grill and Ben and Sam will be
there to help as well – Emily will have a Development Staff role that day.
Please wear Class A uniform. Troop 216 will be cooking for around 30-40
for lunch around 11, but we could potentially have more if the weather
looks good.

The new climbing wall was part of a capital improvement project fundraiser
in 2018 and was recently completed and is a big addition to Beaumont and
our Council!

If you would like to help, please email Emily at
emily.joellenbeck@scouting.org or by phone (text is fine) to 618-410-2994
by 6/19 so we can count you in the food totals.

THANK YOU!
Emily

Please see attached permission slip for details. Permissions slips and
payment are due by Monday, June 10th to one of the Activity Coordinators.
As always, adult participation is strongly encouraged to ensure adequate
coverage. Philmont Trek crew members will be hiking/backpacking to spend
Saturday night at remote site, so additional adults will be needed to
oversee the main campsite area. The weather should be drier and the
temperatures more seasonable for this camping experience than this past
weekend.
